WITH a mouth full of magic mushroom burger at Gourmet on Wray, it is easy to see what another publication meant when it proclaimed this homely little burger joint as ‘the best new burger bar in Perth.’

The burger involves two ample, fresh Bunbury beef patties smothered in melted brie and encased in a fresh Turkish bun along with sautéed mushrooms.

Finished with fresh baby spinach and a home-made lime aioli, the magic mushroom was the cause of much appreciative praise from the regular diners at the adjacent table.

Requiring a slightly lesser commitment, the chilli chicken burger is devious enough to be a treat yet light enough to be deemed healthy.

Organic chicken tenderloins are complemented by baby spinach leaves and a homemade chilli jam with fresh tomato and mayonnaise to create an excellent choice for those who prefer a lighter meal.

The dining area itself is brightly coloured and full of personality, with an open kitchen that allows diners to experience the tantalising cooking aromas before they eat.

Friendly owners Marie and Dalia  prefer to use the highest quality ingredients they can find, making sure they have plenty of vegetarian options.

They have clearly earned their way into the hearts of locals and visitors alike, proving that you can be very successful at just one thing, provided you do it well.
