Ask the victims

Comments:

I HAVE been the victim of a riot at my house when holding a party.

We did everything by the book, as instructed by the party manual published by the police. We even went to the extent of having roller doors fitted and shutters to allow complete privacy and enjoyment for a party at our house.

The 150 intruders came by jumping over fences and when we opened the roller door to see what was going on we were pelted with bottles and other weapons. It was the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced.

The only answer is for the police to act when they are told a party is being held and arrest and charge people who have endangered lives, intruded on a get-together and caused damage and injury.

The courts then have to be given the power, and no option to let the people off scot free.

We have a right in Australian democracy to have a celebration in our own back yard. Ask the people who have been through the experience first.
