Task so hard

I HAVE lived in Rivervale all of my life, studied at length to get a job that pays well and worked hard ever since.

Despite this, I have no chance of purchasing a property in the area that I would love to continue calling home.

I struggle to pay my bills and can barely afford groceries.

I am told that under the Barnett State Government electricity prices have risen 62 per cent, water prices 57 per cent and gas prices 47 per cent.

Meanwhile, the term “affordable housing” has become an oxymoron – the median rental price continues to skyrocket and buying property seems an impossibility.

Mr Barnett, why is it that the harder I work, the more difficult it becomes to make ends meet?

It is interesting how letters like this pop up now that there is an election nearing.

No matter what political power gets in, Rivervale will stay the same.
