LUXURY car maker Lexus has launched its first dedicated performance vehicle – the IS F.
Based on the popular IS platform, the IS F underwent an extensive re-engineering and development program and claims to have a new level of driving dynamics and performance.
The sports sedan features a Yamaha-developed 5.0litre V8 engine, the world's first eight-speed direct sport-shift transmission and Brembo brakes.
The motor develops 311kW and 505Nm of torque.
The car also has specially developed suspension and forged 19-inch light alloy wheels.
Lexus build just 25 IS Fs a day, and Australia will get 10 of them a month.
The car will cost $129,000, placing it well below its three German rivals.
